In.gr is by far the oldest and most popular web portal in Greece, with more than 2 million unique visitors per month. ATCOM was selected as the technical partner to redesign and technically implement the famous news portal, within a collaboration with the Digital Media Business Unit of Lambrakis Press S.A.
ATCOM approached the project with meticulous attention, focusing on the company’s business needs and objectives to plan the implementation strategy for the technical development of most of the redesigned site’s sub-vortals, consisting of the homepage, as well as the News, Auto, Blogs, Galleries & Videos and Reviews sections.
The Netvolution WCM, the platform on which the new in.gr is based, had to be further optimised, not only to meet the requirements of Greece’s most demanding web newsroom, but also to efficiently handle the high traffic and heavy data load of the no 1 news portal.
ATCOM’s Front-end development team included everything, from the building of more than a hundred sub-applications, to handling complex rules for content presentation, to the migration of the total of in.gr’ s content to the redesigned sub vortals since 1999.
The challenging in.gr redesign project has been the outcome of the long and fruitful cooperation between Lambrakis Press S.A. and ATCOM, as well as of the organisation’s decision to use Netvolution WCM as its official web platform.
