Mediterra SA, founded by the Chios Gum Mastic (Mastiha) Growers Association, undertakes the exclusive management of natural Chios Mastiha in Greece and abroad, representing the cooperatives of Mastihohoria in Southern Chios. Feeling that’s it was time for a fundamental upgrade, the company partnered with ATCOM to give Mastihashop, their official website and e-shop, a digital makeover.
ATCOM’s Creative Department opted for a clean design that combines elegance, usability and rich content. Clever use of animations is applied to support the strongly storytelling-based character of the website, provide navigation guidance and promote usability.
The selection of powerful ultra-wide pictures and light-coloured backgrounds gives the website an earthy yet modern look and feel, while the inclusion of sans-serif light-weight typefaces renders the website’s ample content smooth and readable. Further design elements and techniques, such as the horizontal parallax that guides users through the history of mastiha, contribute to an unforgettable web design that’s a breath of fresh air in the digital ecosystem.
Serving as a comprehensive mastiha product catalogue and an efficient, user-friendly e-shop, mastihashop.gr comes packed with useful information and interesting facts about the tradition, production, unique attributes and well-being uses of this precious local product of Chios. It’s also responsive and automatically adaptable to any screen resolution and device.
